A 3 quart slow cooker can be one of the best things you buy for your home. It allows you to come home to a fully cooked meal, with only a few minutes of work in the morning. It also uses less electricity than a microwave or an oven, saving you money. But you may be a little nervous about leaving it on all day with nobody home. You maybe asking yourself, are slow cookers safe?

There are several different safety concerns with a slow cooker. Many will be similar to using any other kind of cooking device. The first is the concern of a fire, next is eating food with has bacteria in it or isn't fully cooked. I will discuss both of these issues and how you an prevent them in this article.
3 Quart Slow cookers are not likely to cause a fire. One reason for this is that they cook at very low temperatures compared to other products, generally between 170 and 280 degrees Faranheit. These low temperatures also have an added benefit of making less expensive meats more tender.
